FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS- FAQs:


1-Where can I get my driving License? 
From RTO- Regional Transport Officer which is licensing, registration, taxation authority of that region.    
                                                                                                                                             
2-How long is learner License valid?
6 months.  
                                                                                                                                           
3-Can I drive a vehicle with learner License?  
 You can drive only with a driving school instructor or a passenger with a valid driving License.     

4-I have lose my driving License,what shall i do?  
Apply to the concerned Licencing authority to get duplicate.                                                                     
5-What do i need to get a duplicate License?    
 You need the license number/date of issue and police report in case you have lost it.                              
6-What are the documents I have to keep with me while driving?
(1) Driving License, (2)Registration card(coloured photocopy can be kept but if police demands original, it should be produced within 15 days),(3) Insurance certificate(same as above), (4)Pollution  certificate, (5)Road permit(tax) and fitness certificate(for transport vehicles)                                                                                                                                            
7-Can i use mobile phone while driving?  .
No.                                                                                                                                                                                                           
8-Can a vehicle registred in one state be used in another state?          
For temporary purpose like Travel. If migrated, then a Noc and Transfer certificate is required from RTO.

9-Can i drive a vehicle without insurance?
No.

10-While riding a motorcycle, all hand singnal must be given by which hand?
Right hand only.

11-What is the rule for tinted glass?
Supreme Court banned black or any tint on the windows of the cars even if the percentage of tint is within permissible limit.

12-Who is authorised to collect the traffic fine on the spot?
Any Traffic branch officer of and above the rank of Assist Sub-Inspector of Police duly authorised with a receipt book.

13-Are seat belts compulsory?
Yes.The person seated in the front should wear their seat belts.

14-My License expired 2 years back,do i need to get a fresh one or can I still renew it?
Yes.Renewal is valid for 5 years.Penality of rs 10  is charged per year.


DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:


1- FOR LEARNERS  LICENSE-

a)Three photographs. (b) Address proof. (c)Age proof. (d)Fitness Certificate. (e)Proof of Citizenship for foreigners.


2-FOR DRIVERS  LICENSE-

a)Valid Learner's license. (b)Valid documents of the vehicle (c)Form no-5(in case of Transport vehicles). (d)One passport size photograph. (e)Pass in 8th standard(in case of Transport vehicle.

3-FOR INTERNATIONAL DRIVING PERMIT-

a)Valid driving license. (b)Four passport size photographs. (c)Medical certificate in Form 1and 1A issued by amy government doctor. (d)Valid proof of Indian National. (e) Vaild passport. (f) Valid Visa. (g)Air ticket. (h)One set Xerox copies of the above Documents.

4-FOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION-

a)Form 20 duly filled up. (b)Form 21(sale certificate) issued by the vehicle dealer. (c)Form22(road worthiness certificate) issued by the manufacturer. (d) Attested copy of valid vehicle insurance policy/ covernote.. (e)Attested copy of address proof at which vehicle is to be registered.(f) Form 34 duly signed by owner and financer. (g) One time road tax as applicable. (h)Prescribed fee for registration(rs500). (i)Pan card. (j) Dealer invoice along with manufacturer invoices.

5-TO  CLAIM  INSURANCE-

(a)FIR copy from Police. (b)Hospital summary, Bills(including medicine). (c)Wound certificate from Doctor.(if any wound). (d)Insurance certificate.(if available). (e)Original license(if available). (f)Vehicle RC Book(if available).

6-FOR VEHICLE DAMAGE CLAIM FROM INSURANCE      COMPANY-

(a)Insurance certificate. (b)Vehicle RC book. (c)Wound certificate from Doctor,(if any wound)
