DON'T GET FOOLED BY TRAFFIC OFFENCE PENALITY


Most of time commuter,who violate traffic rules end up paying Fines 5 times higher than the actual amount!

The penality for speeding offence fixed by Police is rs  Rs400 after receiving the notice and only if paid within 30 days otherwise  Rs100 will be collected as  Late fee for the next 10 days.The fine can be paid at District collection Centres or through net banking, Credit or Debit cards.


For people from Kerala, for example, can check their payments at www. keralapolice.gov.in  - to know if a penality is imposed on their vehicle.


At Kerala itself, Police have installed more than 100s of surveillance cameras in the National


Highways to check the traffic Violations. The live feed is received at the hi-tech traffic enforcement control room functioning at the police training colleege.The control room will then identify the offender with the help of data with the motor vehicle department and notice will be send by post to the offender.

IMPORTANT  TIPS  FOR MOTORIST-

  • If you are not carrying license or vehicle papers with you in the car, you are being challenged, don't pay fine immediately, you will get a legal 15 days to show papers.Your challan can get cancelled by showing the papers with 15 days of the challan date. 
  • Only an officer above the rank of Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI) is allowed to collect fine from any offender on the spot. A constable is not allowed to collect the fine.
  • If a driver is caught without pollution under control  certificate(PUC),the driver need not pay fine,instead he can surrender his driving Licence to the Traffic Officer and take it back from him after obtaining the Certificate.
  • Children below the age of 15 years and woman cannot be called to the police station for taking statement.
  • During the night time a woman accused can be detained only by the woman police.
  • A woman can be checked physically by a woman police only.
