DRIVING TRICKS YOU MAY NOT HAVE HEARD OR NOT YET TRIED -☆PART:1☆

Here are some advanced little-known driving tips for added safety on the road that you may have never heard or not even tried:

1. Fuel meter Indicator-

Look at the Fuel meter on the panel to figure out which side is your fuel filling lid is situated .If you're driving a new car or a rental, there is usually an arrow on the fuel meter(in dark triangle shape) that will point to the side of the car the gas tank is situated.

2. Turn on the air conditioner-

Even when you don’t use the air conditioner (for example, in winter), turn it on regularly for a short period of time. Otherwise, the coolant will seep out, and the tubes will be dry.

3. Driving down a hill-

When driving down a hill, do not switch off the engine. Shift to a lower gear for reducing speed and by shifting to lower gear you will save fuel. But by  switching off the engine, it will only  increase the wear of your brakes and also give you less control over the car.

4. Instantly shining headlights-

Use toothpaste to shine your headlights. This is surprising very effective in shining headlights. Simply buff the headlight with toothpaste smeared on a soft cloth, and it'll look brand new in minutes! Further up, even small   scratches on the car can be eliminated by applying toothpaste on them and cleaning with soft cloth.

5. Car moving from Neighboring lane-

If a car in the neighboring lane is slowing down, follow suit.
If you see a car in the neighboring lane slowing down, you should do the same. It’s likely that the driver wants to let a pedestrians or an animal pass.

6. Instantly cooling down your car-

Cool your car down instantly without turning on the A/C.Your car can feel like an oven on a hot day. There's a trick to cooling it down- Roll down one window, and open and close the door on the other side five to six times. The hot air escapes through the door you're opening and closing, while the cool air enters through the window on the other side. The door acts as a sort of pump, forcing air out the open passenger window. In one test, this tactic got rid of ⅔ the excess heat within a matter of seconds. Now after starting your car, roll down the windows, turn your AC to high(put to the coldest settings) and drive your car for about two minutes, letting the interior of the car to cool down and wind up the window and set the AC to normal setting.

7. Steering Wheel protection-

During summer, Cover your steering wheel with a hand towel. Even if you use a sunshade, it's a good idea to cover your steering wheel with a small towel as this will help to keep the contact temperature of your steering wheel down.same way, clean the steering wheel with an alcoholic wipe at times for better grip and not to mention better hygiene.

8. Brake failure-

In the event of a brake failure, keep on pumping the brake pedal and see if putting enough pressure will finally make the brakes work(at the same time, this will also warn the driver behind you).If they don’t, use the handbrake slowly and downshift to make it easier for the vehicle to stop.If you are coming in too fast-find a soft spot like bushes and grass lawn to crash your vehicle to stop it.

9. View mirror with 2 modes-

Many drivers don’t know that a standard rear-view mirror that comes in the car has 2 modes: day mode and night mode. To avoid being blinded by a car behind you, change the angle of the mirror by pulling down the lever under it.

10. Cleaning your car Windows-

Next  time you  need to clean your car windows, mirrors and chrome or polished  metals, use crumpled newspaper. Begin in a circular pattern to wipe off all spots. Then switch to a vertical and follow it by horizontal movement. Unlike most cotton cloths, the newspaper does not leave behind lint, plus  it leaves a streak-free finish. The paper and the ink acts as a light abrasive to give you really clean windows! Further, if  there is any oil like spots, adding a little of Vinegar will do wonders.
Remember, When  cleaning  windows, first lower the windows slightly and clean the top  edge of the window  pane and then fully close the window and clean the  remaining part of the window.

11. Opening Car key chain-

Open a car key chain ring with a staple remover. You won't hurt your fingers if you use a staple remover to help you add more keys to your car key ring.

12. Take a photo or video or make a note of where you parked-

If you ever get a choice of where to park, choose a spot near some landmark. If you park near a sign board, large tree, block number, advertisement or tall lamppost, you'll be much more likely to remember where you've parked when you return. The landmark that you pick should be seen from far away so that you'll notice it as soon as you start searching for your car.You know you need to do this. Instead of trying to remember your parking spot, make it easier on yourself by taking a photo or a video of where you parked your car with your cell phone. Make a note in your phone about where you parked. Most parking lots have labeled sections to make it easier to remember where you parked (like: P4  STAIR "D").Always stay away from crowded spot.

13. Use the hand brake regularly-

Even if you don’t do slope/hill parking, use the hand brake regularly to keep it alive. The only exception is very cold weather. In such conditions, you’d better avoid using the hand brake so that the brake pads don’t freeze.

14. Drive slow and steady-

The faster you go, the more the wind resistance your vehicle will face. It has been established by trials that you can get upto 40% extra mileage at 40 kmph as compared to 80 kmph.

...so  this is it  for  this  issue: the best advice I can give is:
leave sooner, drive slowly, and live longer!
